This is an important area. The concept of “psychoacoustics” may in great simplicity expressed by saying that “you hear what you want to hear.” Our brain has an amazing ability to handle incoming sound in a way that sometimes allows one to be surprised. There is a great advantage to know some of the brain’s ability to sort out but also disturbed by some noise . There has been extensive research studies in this area and the German writer Blauert is one of the most often referenced in these contexts. The author has been involved in several research projects where knowledge of psychoacoustics has been central. A good knowledge of this subject helps us to better understand why some people may have problems with speech intelligibility and/or disturbed by things that a normal hearing may not perceive.
We have a number of courses in the area and Lagö Thomas is an international expert on the subject . Our courses will create a whole new understanding of how our brain can affect what we hear, remember and why. Contact us to learn more!
